If you find yourself awkwardly standing in front of Gemma, scrolling through armor recipes in Monster Hunter Wilds only to realize you need Sharp Fangs, you’re in the right place.
While all 29 large monsters drop unique hides, claws, and fangs when defeated or wounded, Sharp Fangs are obtained a bit differently – they’re not directly tied to large monsters.
In this guide, I’ll show you the best ways to obtain Sharp Fangs and how to use them effectively at the forge.
Where to get Sharp Fangs
Sharp Fangs drop from small monsters; namely, Gajios, Talioth, Paragill, Kranodath, Pokeplume, and Guardian Seikret.
Here’s where you can find each:
If you’re looking for the fastest farming method, hunting Gajios is your best bet – they are plentiful and exclusively drop Sharp Fangs.
The easiest way to locate these monsters is by using your in-game map. Small monsters and endemic life are marked with purple dots, making them easy to track down. But if you’ve seen them before, at least once, you can filter them using the map filter for small monsters
Sharp Fang uses in MHW
Sharp Fangs are primarily used in crafting Low Rank gear, particularly armor and weapons. Some key crafting uses include:
- Chatacabra Coil: A lower armor piece that provides the Botanist skill.
- Talioth Vambraces: A valuable early-game armor piece.
It’s important to note that Sharp Fangs are only available in Low Rank. Once you reach High Rank, these monsters will instead drop Acute Fangs.
That’s everything you need to know about Sharp Fangs and how to get them in Monster Hunter Wilds. If you want to find other materials, like Monster Fluid, Aqua Sac, and Brute Bone, we’ve got you covered. Once you’re done with the main story, you’ll be able to passively farm some of these with Material Retrieval.
