How to pickpocket in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 is all about making the most money for the least amount of effort, and nothing says low effort like pickpocketing it from some of the game’s NPCs.

Whether you’re looking to make money crafting meth, grabbing the console commands to cheat your way to success, finding the best mixing recipes, or hiring tons of employees to automate your production through the Management Clipboard, there’s plenty of ways to make money in Schedule 1.

However, one other thing that many haven’t even realised exists is pickpocketing, which is an ideal way to get back your own product after you sell it to someone, grab some extra cash, or even ingredients for your next drug combination. So, here’s how to pickpocket in Schedule 1. After all, if you’re going to be a dealer, you might as well be a thief, too.

How to pickpocket

To pickpocket, you’ll need to be stealthy and follow the steps below:

• Go behind an NPC.
• Press CTRL to crouch.

• Hit space when it’s green.

It’s much easier said than done, and will require some intense timing to master. Notably too, the more valuable the items, the harder it will be to pickpocket. So we recommend practising on lower value NPCs. On top of this, you’re performing a crime, so keep an eye out for the Police around you.

What happens if you fail?

If you fail by pressing space in the red bar, one of three options will happen. Either the NPC will turn around and start to fight you, to which you can fight back or run, or they’ll call the police, to which you should definitely run. Lastly, they could just completely ignore you, which is arguably the best scenario as you can then try again.

If you do get tangled up with the police, be sure to check out how to run away from them, there’s an ideal hiding space to ensure you don’t lose any of your items or money.

Who can you pickpocket?

For the most part, you can pickpocket anyone you want in Schedule 1, aside from dealers or the police, though the latter would be incredibly risky anyway.

For the most spoils, we recommend pickpocketing those you’ve just given drugs, as you can sometimes get them back, keeping the money and the drugs. Alternatively, if you’re short on cash, the nearest victim will do, just keep away from the law.
