The 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony is just around the corner, with the game's greats gathering to discover who will be crowned the best male and female footballer of the year.

Those are not the only awards up for grabs at the 68th Ballon d'Or ceremony, co-hosted by UEFA and originators France Football for the first time. There's plenty of individual accolades to go around, for both players and coaches.

If you're keen to tune into the action as it unfolds at the Ballon d'Or gala, there are fortunately several ways to watch proceedings in Paris.

This year's Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place on Monday 28 October at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris. The French venue has hosted the ceremony since the 2019 edition of the Ballon d'Or.

The ceremony will begin at 19:00 GMT, 20:00 CEST and 14:00 ET in the United States and will be co-hosted by French-British journalist Sandy Heribert and former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

It's not known exactly when the Ballon d'Or ceremony will conclude but the event will likely take place over several hours.

How to watch the 2024 Ballon d'Or on TV and live stream

There are a variety of different ways to watch the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony on 28 October. It will be shown for audiences across the world for free on the L'Equipe YouTube channel, although some geo-restrictions may apply.

In the United Kingdom, this year's ceremony will also be broadcast live on TNT Sports and their streaming platform discovery+. Those on the go will be able to download and watch on the discovery+ App but will need a paid subscription to access content.

The Ballon d'Or and Ballon d'Or Femenin are the most high-profile awards presented at the ceremony, gifted to the best male and female footballers during the 2023/24 season, but there are a number of other prizes up for grabs.

The Kopa Trophy will be given to the best player under the age of 21 from last season, with Lamine Yamal the likely recipient of this year's prize. Past winners include Kylian Mbappe, Pedri and Jude Bellingham.

For the often ignored goalkeepers, the Yashin Trophy - named after Lev Yashin, the only Ballon d'Or -winning stopper - is handed out to the best in the business, with Emiliano Martinez seeking a second successive award.

The Gerd Muller Trophy is awarded to the highest scorer in 2023/24 and the Socrates Award acknowledges the player who has done the most important humanitarian work.

Managers will get the chance to claim some glory themselves, with the Men's and Women's Coach of the Year awards handed out. There is also club accolades to be won, with Men's and Women's Club of the Year.
