At 6ft 3in, Julie Tétart is a force to be reckoned with, leading French women's basketball in scoring and rebounds.
On Instagram, Tétart, 34, flaunts an incredible physique. Bulging biceps. Ripped abs. Beefy legs. Highlight reels show Tétart literally bowling over opponents.
Oh and Tétart was born a man.
Unfair, you say? Not according to nearly every coach and player in the WNBA, who's been willing to wade into these troubled waters.
That is, except for one: Sophie Cunningham.
Cunningham and her stunning gams inadvertently kicked up quite a storm over the last week. It all started with an innocuous comment in a nearly 5,000-word ESPN profile of the Indiana Fever star.
Cunningham was asked why, 'some corners of the internet' have taken to calling her 'MAGA Barbie.'

'I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I'm like, 'I never once said that,'' she answered. 'I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men.'
That's common sense, right? Seventy-nine percent of Americans say that biological men should not be playing lady games, according to a 2025 New York Times poll.
The NCAA says only biological women can play in their women's sports leagues.
And the Women's Tennis Association has instituted a gender test for their athletes – and it has the backing of superstars like Coco Gauff and world No 1 player Aryna Sabalenka.
But the WNBA seemed to lose its ever lovin' mind over Sophie's choice.
Last week, a pair of teen fans sitting courtside were berated by Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton and called 'f***ing insane' for showing support for Cunningham (Keaton has rightly been fined and banned from five home games).
Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve wore a 'Trans Kids Belong' t-shirt under her snazzy blazer, fanning the flames and turning this sideshow into a full-blown cultural conflagration.
Golden State Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase, the WNBA's first Asian American coach, fell all over herself talking about the issue trans inclusion in a news conference: 'Thank you for that question. For me, sports is about belonging. It's about inclusivity. It's about allowing everyone to be their authentic self. You know, I'm big on that just because I have been criticized for my height, for my ethnicity.
At least Cunningham's own coach Stephanie White would have her back, right? Nope!
White went all Ketanji 'I'm not a biologist' Brown Jackson when asked about THE uproar. 'I don't know that I would say that I'm educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don't ever believe that exclusion is an answer.'
Wait a second. Sophie Cunningham isn't the one who keeps bringing up the trans issue – you all are!

These coaches could have dodged the question like Cunningham's star teammate Caitlin Clark, who has enough problems on the court. 'It's not really a discussion we really have in our locker room,' the pale stringbean told reporters. 'I think it's for leagues and governing bodies to work with their athletes to find solutions. But our focus is on basketball.'
Here I was thinking that the WNBA's biggest problem is Angel Reece's inability to hit an open layup. It's worse than that. The league is comprised of activist coaches who mirror the radical beliefs of less than 20 percent of the population… and I think I know why.
Each of these coaches want a dude on their team so they can win a championship! They want to turn the WNBA into the LGBTQIA+NBA.
But if these desperate Hoops hunchos are so hungry for baskets, they should shop at HomeGoods and give this 80/20 issue a rest.
