I lost both my legs in Afghanistan. Five years after the Taliban takeover, it wasn't worth it

Former British soldier Jack Cummings lost both of his legs hunting for IEDs on the frontline in Afghanistan, while two of his close friends never made it home. Now, five years on from the Western pullout and the Taliban's takeover, he reveals his heartbreak over the freedoms that have been snatched back from Afghan women and children.

Remembering over 450 British troops who paid the ultimate price, he explains why he believes their sacrifice, and his own life-altering injuries, were simply not worth it.
