ICE plans to deport right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos

Homeland Security officers have arrested right-wing political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos and are holding him in preparation for deportation, the government said Friday, saying he’s in the country illegally.

Mr. Yiannopoulos is a British citizen who came to the U.S. on a legal visa but overstayed, the Department of Homeland Security said.

He was arrested at an airport in Louisiana.

“Yiannopoulos was issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge on July 22, after failing to show up for his immigration hearing. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal,” DHS said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement records listed him as in detention but didn’t say where.

Mr. Yiannopoulos at one point was an editor for Breitbart News but resigned after making comments that questioned age-of-consent laws surrounding sex. More recently, he worked for rapper Kanye West, including aiding his ill-fated stunt presidential campaign in 2024.

DHS cast his arrest as part of a crackdown on illegal immigrants boarding planes.

“DHS reversed the horrendous Biden-era policy that allowed aliens in our country illegally to jet around our country. Under President Trump, DHS will no longer tolerate this. This administration is working diligently to ensure that aliens in our country illegally can no longer fly unless it is out of our country to self-deport,” the department said.

DHS said Mr. Yiannopoulos can leave detention by accepting deportation.
