This influencer is facing a seismic controversy.
A plus-sized Panamanian was slammed on social media after she posted pics of herself modeling in front of the ruins of homes decimated by Friday’s massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake.
Gracie Bon took a glamor shot surrounded by the devastation that took out nearly 900 homes in the Central American nation.
Bon, who previously criticized McLauren because she couldn’t squeeze her 55-inch caboose into their sports cars, drew immediate backlash from people accusing her of trying to make a national crisis all about her.
“It’s one thing to report on the situation in the country, but quite another to create content based on other people’s misfortunes!” one Instagram user wrote.
“Momma, don’t you understand that for the message to get through, you don’t need to be in the picture?” another user pointed out.
“Seriously. Was it necessary to pose?” another person asked.
“I can’t believe she actually asked someone to take pictures of her in front of someone’s destroyed house,” one user added about the tone deaf decision.
Bon, however, claimed to her 11.9 million Instagram followers that she was not posing in the photographs — and that she wanted to convey the real aftermath of the earthquake.
“I am not posing. I simply decided to post a picture of myself in it,” Bon said in a follow-up post following the backlash.
“My intention was to help with resources and find some families that I could help rebuild their homes,” she added.
The 225-lb. model also defended her actions by posting a pic of her carrying a case of water to disaster victims. She said she is also donating to reconstruction — so critics should butt out.
One commenter, however, hit back and pointed out that Bon could’ve provided aid to the impacted families without turning it into content on social media.
“When everything you do is turned into advertising for your own benefit, that’s what bothers many people,” the user wrote.
“You can do good things without having to constantly post everything on social media for attention.”
