For years now, Jenny McCarthy has left many stunned by her age-defying looks and toned physique.

At 53, the Hollywood actress, model and comedian continues to turn heads with her impressive physique - and she has made no secret of just how much she has dedicated her lifestyle to achieving it.

Here, the Daily Mail has taken a closer look at McCarthy’s diet and exercise regime, as well as how she has been learning to live with her chronic illness.

The star previously revealed that an infected root canal and bad dental implant led to nine surgeries on her mouth followed by constant infections and 'growths on her eye.'

Just this week, McCarthy, who is married to Donnie Wahlberg, shared a glimpse into the array of daily vitamins that she now takes to help ease her health issues.

McCarthy shared a look into her huge duffle bag, which she has dubbed her ‘biohacker Birkin,' filled with supplements in a video shared to her social media.

'Wherever I go, my vitamins are available to me,' she said in the clip. 'My breakfast, my lunch and my dinner.'

'All of my vitamins I take in one day, in this easy-to-carry sack,' she continued. 'From one chronic illness sufferer to another, enjoy.'

Last year, McCarthy revealed she had undergone nine surgeries on her mouth.

'I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs,' she told People.

'My teeth were falling out, implants falling out. They finally had to dig into my jawbone and chipped away, and found I had a deep bone infection.'

A dental implant can cause jaw infection (peri-implantitis), leading to symptoms like redness, swelling and pain around the implant, sometimes with pus, bleeding or a bad taste.

An infected implant can also become loose, potentially leading to implant failure.

In November, McCarthy told the publication that she lost weight due to her health crisis, as she claimed all of the swelling and pain in her mouth had kept her from eating enough calories.

'I've been on antibiotics for a year, and have had to eat soft foods only,' she noted.

'As of now, I'm able to chew again, but every time we thought it had cleared up, it came back again.

She revealed the multitude of vitamins she carries around with her to help aid her health

'I'd be in massive pain with my jaw swelling up, and at the same time I was getting these growths popping up on my eyeballs.'

McCarthy has also been open about getting cosmetic procedures in the past, admitting to undergoing a breast enhancements, using Botox and getting body contouring (AirSculpt) over the years, while denying lip fillers.

Speaking candidly in 2023 about AirSculpt, a body contouring procedure, she said it helps target her stubborn fat.

'Stubborn fat can seem to come out of nowhere as we get a bit older, and I was no exception to this rule,' she said on Instagram.

'Trying to get rid of my annoying "spare tire," I worked out a ton but with no luck!

'With [AirSculpt's] amazing patented technology, I was able to slim and tone my abs by removing that stubborn fat.'

And McCarthy is right when she says she works out a 'ton.'

In 2023, she shared insight into her fitness regime while posing for Kim Kardashian’s Skims.

McCarthy does cardio and weight training three times a week at the gym

Besides being committed to exercise she also has admitted to body contouring

Included in her weekly regimen is a three lots of 45-minute cardiovascular exercises as well as three strength training sessions.

In addition, jogging, cycling, swimming and yoga are all activities she has touted in the past.

In 2018, McCarthy told Fox News that she does an incline of 15 on a treadmill while holding hand weights.

'That's all I can do for 45 minutes a day,' she said. 'That's all I have left in me.'

As for her diet, McCarthy claimed last March that she 'almost died' being a vegan and said she had to switch to the a carnivore diet.

The model, who was 52 at the time, said she became 'very ill' after following a vegan diet.

Speaking on an episode of the Heal Squad podcast hosted by Maria Menounos, McCarthy said: 'I tried vegan and I almost died. I became so ill. I was exhausted and fatigued. I was a mess.'

She added that she had been battling an undiagnosed food allergy for years, explaining: 'I didn’t know I had a gluten and dairy problem. I thought everyone got sick when they ate.'

McCarthy said she was told by her functional medicine doctor that she needed to go on a carnivore diet, adding that she was hesitant to try it at first.

''But [I felt] I might as well give it a try; it was like my last resort diet,' she said. 'It has been f**king incredible for me.'

A vegan diet is based on plants, such as vegetables, grains, nuts and fruits. Vegans abstain from eating foods that come from animals including meats, eggs, dairy and honey.

While a carnivore meal plan only allows the consumption of meat, poultry, eggs, seafood, fish, some dairy products and water, thus eliminating all other kinds of foods.
