Controversial Former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz's grew up in the famous house that started in the hit movie The Truman Show.

Gaetz, 42, resigned his House of Representatives seat last week, hours after President-elect Donald Trump nominated him for Attorney General.

A staunch MAGA supporter, Gaetz has been the subject of a Department of Justice (DOJ) sex trafficking investigation and a House Ethics Committee probe.

Trump's pick for the top law enforcement role in the US allegedly partied, used drugs and paid women for sex repeatedly between 2017 and 2019 while serving in the House of Representatives.

Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing and has been spotted on Capitol Hill trying to rally support from GOP senators for his Attorney General nomination, which could be hindered by his many controversies.

The House Ethics Committee is voting Wednesday on whether a scathing report into Gaetz for allegedly having sex with a minor and doing illegal drugs should be released.

With all eyes on the ex-congressman, many people may recognize his childhood home from the blockbuster film The Truman Show.

The Truman Show, released in 1998, starred Jim Carrey as the eponymous Truman Burbank, whose entire life was being unknowingly filmed and aired as a reality TV show.

The film, which was directed by Peter Weir and written by Andrew Niccol, grossed more than $264million worldwide and garnered three Academy Award nominations for best supporting actor, original screenplay and director.

A majority of the iconic movie was filmed in Seaside, Florida, where Gaetz's parents own the house that Carrey's character lived in.

His father, Don Gaetz, purchased the four-bedroom, 2,100 square foot property in 1991 for $125,000, according to Forbes.

Then he took out a $203,000 mortgage in 1993 and renovated the home in 1997 before it made it on the big screen a year later.

Now, the charming yellow cottage is estimated to be worth $2.7 million, according to Realtor.com.

The idyllic two-story home is just steps away from the beach, has a fire place and boasts a quaint white picket fence and front porch.

Despite the address being 31 Natchez Street, the Gaetz family kept the iconic number 36 above the front door where Carrey's Truman would deliver his trademark lines.

The family dubbed the dwelling The Truman House with a sign on the fence that also lists their names: Don & Vicky Gaetz, Matthew & Erin.

Seaside is part of a stunning 26-mile stretch of Florida's Gulf Coast, known as 30A, that has been dubbed the 'Hamptons of the South' as it attracts an influx of homebuyers.

The once-hidden gem strip of beaches, including picture-perfect towns like Rosemary Beach and Seaside, features Caribbean-like waters, powdery white sand, and classic Southern charm.

In 2023, visitor spending during the peak summer season increased by $500 million compared to 2019.

The area's popularity has sent property prices skyrocketing as the median home price soared from $1.1 million in 2019 to a jaw-dropping $3 million this year in Rosemary Beach
