Iran president met supreme leader in darkness — and isn’t convinced it was him: report

WASHINGTON — Iran’s mysterious, “probably gay” supreme leader is so elusive that even his own president isn’t convinced he met him in a bizarre one-on-one in the back of a dark car.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was whisked to a secret location in Tehran, shoved into the back seat of a dark car with blacked-out windows and told he was sitting next to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei — except he never actually saw the man, according to a bombshell report from Iran International.

The bizarre cloak-and-dagger meeting reportedly lasted just a few minutes, not the cozy two-and-a-half-hour sit-down Pezeshkian bragged about publicly in May.

It is unclear when the reported meeting occurred.

Sources told Iran International that Khamenei’s office agreed to the meeting only after Pezeshkian repeatedly begged for one and threatened to quit. Even then, the supreme leader refused to meet at his official residence, as is custom.

Instead, the president was driven to a secret location in Tehran, pulled from his own security convoy and placed in the back of a commercial vehicle.

The cabin was kept so dark the two men couldn’t see each other — with guards even barring Pezeshkian from shaking the supreme leader’s hand.

The situation reportedly irritated Pezeshkian, who asked aides whether the person beside him had actually been Khamenei at all — because all he’d heard was someone talking in the dark.

The president has since asked for another meeting, this time face-to-face at the leader’s residence. So far, he’s been turned down.

Pezeshkian has since offered to step down again, complaining that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had seized near-total control over running the country, according to reports.

Iranian media reported this week that Khamenei formally granted IRGC Commander-in-Chief Ahmad Vahidi the ultimate authority on decision-making, sidelining Pezeshkian’s political administration.

Pezeshkian’s strange rendezvous with the supreme leader only adds to the growing mystery surrounding Khamenei, who was described as “probably gay” in a briefing for President Trump early in the war.

Khamenei has effectively vanished from public view since taking power roughly five months ago.

Not a single verified photo, video or audio recording of Iran’s new ruler has been released. All his statements have come in written form, and he didn’t even attend his father’s funeral last month.

The silence has become so deafening that even Iran’s state-aligned media has tried to explain it away.

Iran’s government-owned Hamshahri newspaper claimed this week that foreign intelligence agencies could pinpoint Khamenei’s location from something as simple as background noise in an audio recording — a bizarre claim that only fueled more speculation over his whereabouts and condition.

He famously “appeared” as a cardboard cutout at a pre-regime allegiance rally days after the war on Iran began Feb. 28.
