  • This will be Norway’s fourth FIFA World Cup appearance and their first since 1998. Norway’s best performance came in the 1998 edition in France, reaching the round of 16 before being eliminated by Italy.
  • Norway were one of two teams to win 100% of their qualifiers in the UEFA section (8/8), alongside England. They also scored 4.6 goals per game (37 goals in 8 matches), the best average ever for any European nation in a single FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with 4+ matches.
  • Erling Haaland scored 16 goals in eight qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, more than any other player and double the amount of any other player in the UEFA section. Meanwhile, Martin Ødegaard was the top goal provider in the UEFA qualifiers, delivering seven assists.
  • In the fifth round of AFC qualifying and inter-confederation play-off, Amir Al Ammari was involved in three of Iraq’s five goals (1 goal, 2 assists), while across all of qualifying, only teammate Aymen Hussein (9) had more goal involvements than his seven (2 goals, 5 assists).
