Al Sudani visited the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) on Wednesday night during his trip to Mashhad, northeast Iran.
During his visit, Al Sudani expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Iranian government and the Astan Quds Razavi.
He stated that his visit, initiated by an invitation from Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian, included discussions on various regional issues.
"We had the opportunity to meet with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. He has a very positive perspective towards the countries of the region," Al Sudani stated.
He further expressed hope that the meetings and pilgrimage during the sacred month of Rajab would lead to positive outcomes for both nations, enhancing cooperation and strengthening ties between Iran and Iraq.
Emphasizing the honor of serving pilgrims of the holy figures in Iraq, Al Sudani acknowledged the extensive services provided by Astan Quds Razavi, noting they were comparable to ministerial-level operations.
"We appreciate these valuable services," he added. "We are always in contact with the officials of Iraq's holy shrines, discussing ways to improve services for pilgrims."
