Yoav Litvin told Anadolu that Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and West Bank are clear manifestations of a policy he describes as "genocidal expansion."
He emphasized the role of Western powers, particularly the US, in allowing Israel to pursue those aims without restraint. Litvin said the West backs Israel "to continue with these policies and declare it shamelessly."
"Now, with this impunity (provided by the West), it’s just gone to full-blown genocidal expansionism," he added.
He claimed the US could halt Israeli actions with a simple directive from its leaders: "The US can pretty much … pick up the phone and order the Israeli government to cease all actions."
According to Litvin, recent events in Gaza and Lebanon highlight a regional genocide, rather than a two-sided conflict.
“This is horrific. This is a full-blown genocide,” he stated. Litvin contended that calling it a conflict is inaccurate: "I dare not call it a conflict ... there are no two sides here. There’s an oppressor and oppressed."
Litvin argued that Israel’s actions represent "an escalation of an already genocidal phenomenon," rooted in the goal of Zionist expansion.
"So, this is pretty much an acceleration of a genocidal land grab, which Zionists have been involved in before 1948," he said, further explaining that Israel used Oct. 7 as a justification for intensifying its actions. "What we see now is a natural extension of this process," he added.
Litvin pointed to the ideology of “Greater Israel” as a key driver behind Tel Aviv's policies.
"The Greater Israel fantasy serves two purposes: one, within the population, as a propaganda item to promote this kind of genocidal fantasy, and second of all, outside of Israel, it serves a legal purpose, which is we can defend ourselves," the Jewish writer added.
He described "Greater Israel as a fairy tale" and argued it shapes the narrative within the Zionist enterprise, serving the broader goals of "US, UK, Western imperialism and secular colonialism and capitalist oppression."
He noted that "within the Zionist enterprise, this Greater Israel fantasy plays a key role in justifying the genocidal policies of the government and also producing a very high and strong level of fear."
Litvin criticized the international community’s response as largely symbolic, distinguishing between words and actions.
"In words, different leaders in these Western nations can condemn Israel’s actions or provide certain condemnations of specific Israeli leaders, but in actions, they continue to provide the weaponry and the legal and diplomatic and political support,” he stressed.
The West encourages Israel as it is doing its land grab and resource grab, which is a huge financial incentive for Western countries to let Israel do their bidding, he said. "This is a hand-in-hand project, white supremacist project, which these politicians are leading."
"Israel will only stop when it is forced to stop because as long as you reward this kind of behavior is going to continue," he concluded.
The Israeli army has continued a devastating offensive on Gaza since last October, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
More than 43,160 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 101,500 injured, according to local health authorities.
The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the entire population of the territory amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its brutal war on Gaza.
