Israel has killed the leader of the armed wing of Hamas, Saeed Atallah, in an airstrike in northern Lebanon on Saturday, according to Hamas-affiliated media.

Atallah was killed alongside three family members in the coastal city of Tripoli while in a Palestinian refugee camp, according to local media.

This most recent attack is a continuation of the wave of strikes that Israel has launched across Lebanon aimed at wiping out Hezbollah targets.

Atallah was the leader of the al-Qassam brigades — the military arm of the Palestinian nationalist organization.

Last week, Israel killed Hezbollah’s head-honcho Hassan Nasrallah – who was “neutralized” at the terror organization’s bunker headquarters in Lebanon’s capital Beirut.

The Jewish state’s expanded conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon has come with over 2,000 civilian casualties, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

Israel has not commented on Saturday’s strike in Tripoli.

However, the Israel Defense Force’s X account boasted about their military success over the last week.

“Over the last 4 days, the IDF has eliminated 2,000+ military targets and 250 Hezbollah terrorists,” the post reads, “5 battalion commanders, 10 company commanders, 6 platoon commanders.”

Earlier this week, Israel was struck by a barrage of missiles from Iran in a clear escalation of the conflict which approaches its one year anniversary. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he would not rule out an attack on Iran’s nuclear-related facilities.
