Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Wednesday, Abbas Araqchi said he had been assured by the highest-ranking Iraqi officials, during a visit to Baghdad before the Israeli regime’s attack, that the Arab country would not allow its soil or airspace to be used against Iran.
“There are reports suggesting that Iraq’s airspace has been employed (for attacking Iran). We are in contact with our friends in the Iraqi government to make them lodge a complaint at international courts,” he stated.
Denouncing the presence of the US air force in the region, Araqchi said Iran has obtained information indicating that the Zionist regime’s fighter jets had flown through a channel provided by the American forces to carry out the operation against Iran.
“We have filed our complaint at the United Nations and other international organizations,” the foreign minister added.
According to the Iranian Army, four of its combatants were martyred during the confrontation with the projectiles fired by the criminal Zionist regime in the early hours of October 26.
In remarks afterwards, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity of disrupting the flawed calculations of the Zionist regime regarding Iran.
"They’re making a miscalculation with respect to Iran… our officials should be the ones to assess and precisely apprehend what needs to be done and do whatever is in the best interests of this country and nation. They (the enemy) must be made to realize who the Iranian people are and what the Iranian youth are like," the Leader added.
