Danny Danon, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, said during an interview that Israel will not risk Iran’s Islamic regime obtaining nuclear weapons, a pledge that it has always had, but has taken on renewed priority after Iran fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel this week.

Danon made remarks during a CNN interview Wednesday night with Kaitlan Collins on “The Source” when asked about what Israel’s response would be.

Danon said that he told the U.N. that Israel’s response would be a “very strong, painful response” that will happen “soon.”

“Iran will pay a price for what they did, attacking Israel,” he said. “Ten million Israelis had to run for shelters. Imagine the entire population of New York City that have to run for shelters in 10 minutes. They will pay for that.”

He said that Israel has the ability to reach any place inside the Middle East and that there is a long list of menu options for how they can respond.

When asked about the Biden-Harris administration opposing Israel going after Iran’s nuclear facilities, Danon asked what they want to see Israel do about the existential threat that they are facing.

“[Do they want us to] wait for Iran to have a nuclear capability, and then they can put that on the ballistic missiles, and launch nuclear ballistic missiles into Israel?” he asked. “You have to stop them. So, if it’s not going to be us doing it now, it should be the responsibility of the U.S. and other Western democracies to block Iran from achieving nuclear capability. Otherwise, it will be too late.”

He said that the Jewish people have learned throughout history that when there is a “radical leader threatening to destroy the Jewish people, you better believe him.”

“And when we see the intention, and we see the capabilities, and they’re throwing those ballistic missiles on our civilians, it makes one wonder, what should we do next?” he asked.

He added that Iran will “feel” Israel’s response “very soon.”
