Israeli warplanes escalated their airstrikes on the city of Tyre in southeastern Lebanon on Tuesday, targeting residential areas multiple times. The latest strikes were more severe than previous ones, leaving extensive destruction in the city.
The airstrikes on Tyre come as Israel's ground forces struggle to secure positions in battles against Lebanese resistance fighters.
Israeli commandos have suffered losses and been forced to retreat over the past 48 hours following clashes in the eastern border regions of occupied Palestine and Lebanon, particularly in the villages of Adaisseh and Maroun al-Ras.
Fierce battles continue in Aita al-Shaab, a key area along the central section of the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
So far, 35 Israeli Merkava tanks have been destroyed in the fighting in southern Lebanon. Resistance forces report that over 100 Israeli soldiers have been killed or injured, and Israeli troops have been unable to secure their foothold inside Lebanon.
In response to the airstrikes on southern Lebanon, resistance forces have shelled the Israeli cities of Nahariya, Acre, and Haifa since Tuesday morning.
One of the attacks targeted the Zoflan naval base in Haifa, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
