The period between Christmas and New Year often leaves plenty of time for families to get out and explore the UK's beautiful scenery.
Eight stunning walks across the country have been selected by outdoor experts, offering families diverse landscapes to explore during the festive season.
The carefully chosen routes, compiled by Garden Buildings Direct, showcase Britain's varied terrain, from sandy beaches in Norfolk to mountainous peaks in Scotland. The selection includes sheltered woodland walks, seaside strolls and spectacular waterfalls for winter adventurers.
These walks provide opportunities for visitors to experience gothic architecture, ancient woodlands, and crystal-clear waters whilst enjoying the crisp winter air.

Wells-next-the-sea, Norfolk
Located on the Norfolk coast, Wells offers uninterrupted sandy vistas backed by fragrant pinewoods and sand dunes. The walk from Wells to Holkham provides a peaceful route perfect for birdwatching and nature enthusiasts.
Hever Castle, Kent
In the garden of England, Hever Castle presents gentle walks through festively adorned gardens. Visitors can enjoy strolls around the lake while admiring the castle's exterior.
Padley Gorge, Peak District
This magical ancient woodland at Longshaw Estate offers open views across Peak District moorland. The route features brooks, Padley Mill, and stunning Derbyshire landscapes.
Charmouth Beach
This coastal spot provides the perfect family winter walk with fewer crowds than summer months.
Visitors can enjoy bracing sea air, hunt for fossils along the coast, and brave a toe-dip in the sea before finishing with a warming hot chocolate.
Whitby Abbey, Yorkshire
