Im actually 1/2 through this video when I saw your post.
Why the USA seemingly has a suicidal mindset in its car makers is beyond me:
Shoddy products
Over tech and over priced
Stupid design ideas like internal water pumps and direct injection
Then maybe worst of all the push to move manufacturing out of country.
And I wonder if sixth a collapse will translate to used cars…I think it would.

Double cab trucks not moving. Same for $80,000 Dodge Rams and Ford trucks of all types. Toyota trucks too. You can get steep discounts off the MSRP.

Revealing video! I did not know this was going on. I thought car/truck sales had a slight dip.

Not many people want to plunk down $80,000 To $120,000 on a depreciating asset in a Biden economy. Truck privces are just stupid.

Nobody who buys a truck wants a small displacement, turbo, eco-boost type of engine that is needlessly fussy and prone to failure.
Also, the 90K prices are ridiculous.

I’ve known folks who have bought an electric car and charger. And they then have to buy a Generac because the electric supply is unreliable. Talked to another guy in the EU that put solar on his roof (he has a plug in hybrid) - he said the solar wouldn’t pay for itself in his lifetime.
Electric cars can work for people that can afford another

I’ve been watching this guy’s channel lately and he really seems to know his stuff.
I saw this video the other day, he really has some shocking things to say about Toyota.
He also has some great tips on how to handle negotiations at a dealership......one big thing, never go to the dealership until you’ve negotiated all your terms on line (text or email) and have everything in writing.
Really smart IMO.

Here’s Ford’s new pricing for its trucks....you can no longer buy a stripped down Sub $40K F150. Most of its trucks are in the 70K-80K range......how can people (many who need work trucks) afford that?

Not many private people do but taxes drive a lot of purchases at year end
If you are a sole proprietor your state, fed and Self Employment upper tax bracket may be 50%, so the choice is less debt or drive a new pickup. which is more fun?

What was he saying about Toyota? My impression is they’re the quality champ right now.

I bought a new work truck last year, single cab. Why they are making most trucks with double cabs now is beyond me, why would you want one in the first place? I was thinking about buying another right now but single cabs are really hard to find now and I have NO USE for it.

My local Ford dealership here in NE Florida has new trucks stacked up the wazoo these days. They are located next to a favorite restaurant of mine so I always have a peak at their inventory when I pass by. We have booming economy with 3.4% unemployment yet still their unsold inventory is massive.

I haven’t heard of the internal water pump but I don’t follow automotive stuff much anymore.
Beyond insane.
