Jamie Lee Curtis continues to support Pamela Anderson
In honor of her 66th birthday last week, the award-winning actress posted a barefaced picture, shouting out Anderson, 57, who has been going makeup-free regularly since last year.
“Just out of the shower selfie,” Curtis captioned the post.
“Honoring @pamelaanderson @lastshowgirl and her no make up ownership of self. Sober. Strong. Steady on,” she added, shouting out the forthcoming movie, “The Last Showgirl,” which stars both Anderson and Curtis alongside Brenda Song, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka and more.
Curtis clarified her eye makeup, writing, “Just noticed that it looks like I have mascara on, which is clearly a remnant of my workday yesterday. Clearly, mommy didn’t wash her face very well.”
The actress’ followers applauded her in the comments of her birthday post.
“you need NO makeup 🥳,” one user commented. “Thank you for aging so graciously and not trying to change anything. You are stunning,” another said.
The star has publicly praised Anderson’s decision to go forgo makeup for some time now.
After Anderson went viral for her fresh-faced to take in the high-fashion Paris Fashion Week shows, Curtis wrote that she was “so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion” in an Instagram post at the time.
“THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN,” the “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Curis added, showing two barefaced images of Anderson from the Isabel Marant show.
“@pamelaanderson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures, and and and, this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face.”
Anderson has been open about her reason for opting out of makeup this past year.
In August 2023, she said the decision was sparked by the passing of her makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, who died in 2019 of breast cancer. And she also decided to go “against the grain” and defy heavily made-up trends, calling the experience “freeing, fun and a little rebellious.”
After Paris Fashion Week, Anderson said the viral moment wasn’t that deeply premeditated. “Something just came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and and I thought, ‘I don’t want to compete with the clothes,’” she told Vogue France at the time. “I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room.”
“I feel like it’s just a freedom,” the “Baywatch” star added. “It’s like a relief.”
Anderson says she didn’t “expect anyone to notice” her new fresh-faced look, but has clearly embraced the aesthetic since, posing for magazines and in ad campaigns without makeup as well.
In January 2024, she even launched her own skincare line, Sonsie.
Other celebs including Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore have also praised Anderson, calling her powerful.
We can’t wait to see Curtis and Anderson hit the red carpet together to promote “The Last Showgirl.”
