Japan’s bullet trains will have anime girls that talk to you during your journey

Commuters in Japan can ride a bullet train while listening to anime girl voices and take part in an exclusive story involving characters from Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

Travelling to and from work is never particularly fun at the best of times, but a Tokyo-based bullet train is aiming to liven things up for passengers by having a cast of anime girls talking to them during their commute.

According to the translated website, the Tokaido Shinkansen has teamed up with the popular mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke to deliver limited-edition rewards, unique photo spots, and a story featuring special voice lines that change depending on your destination.

From September 11 to November 10, 2026, passengers who board the Tokaido Shinkansen and access the campaign website can listen to exclusive Nikke voice lines, with different dialogue available depending on whether they’re traveling to or from Kyoto.

The website reveals that popular characters like Anis, Arcana, Sakura, and more will speak to you during your journey. Quite what they have to say is being kept under wraps, but the collaboration features a unique story centered around an “investigation of lost items.”

It’s not just anime girl ASMR that you’ll be treated to either, as you’ll also get a special code that gives you access to a photo of one of the nine Nikke characters. Once you’ve heard the voice content, simply head to a 7-11 and use the multi-copy machine to pick your fave.

If you’re struggling to pick, then don’t worry, as you can collect them all — provided you’re willing to take a few train trips. There’s even a photo spot that features Anis’ Sparkling Summer Skin, where you can scan a QR code to access a special voice line from the explosive-loving girl.
