A massive decades-old bee colony was discovered inside the walls of a Maine farmhouse.
The hive with more than 40,000 bees was living in the interior of the building on Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook, reported WMTW.
Photos show the swarm and an immense amount of honeycomb embedded into the structure.
'For sixty-plus years, there's been bees in this house and it might be longer than that. It might be seventy or eighty,' Michael Knight, whose family owns the house, told the local outlet.
The family enlisted the help of local agricultural service Bee Huggah to help safely remove the insects.

'I believe that these bees are worth saving for a number of different reasons,' beekeeper Andrew MacDonald said. 'They have medicinal value and they pollinate our crops.'
MacDonald transported the bees into a hive box outside of the house where they will live until they can be relocated to another spot on the farm.
A similar situation occurred earlier this year when a beekeeper found tens of thousands of honeybees above their child's bedroom.
The North Carolina beekeeper found around 60,000 honeybees after three-year-old Saylor Class insisted that there were 'monsters in the wall' of her Charlotte home.
According to the BBC, her mother Ashley Massis Class did not think anything about what her daughter said and even she gave her a bottle of water so that she can 'spray away any of the monsters at night.'

The family has since gone viral on TikTok after Ashley posted a video of the discovery and clips of the aftermath.
'They just came pouring out like a horror movie,' Class told BBC.
Class claimed the honeybees damaged the house's electric wiring and that it will cost more than $20,000 in damages.
Ashley and her husband began to realize that those monsters could be bees after she discovered clusters in her chimney and the attic.
Saylor's parents began to believe the three-year-old was hearing the honeybees buzzing close to her bedroom ceiling. They called a pest control company, which confirmed the 'monsters.'
