The View's Joy Behar has revealed that she encouraged JD Vance to run for president following their animated sit down on The View.

The longtime liberal host offered the vice president a surprising compliment after their interview yesterday.

Behar, 83, said it would be 'interesting' to see the Republican in the running during an appearance on the Behind the Table podcast later that day.

'I'm getting a note here. You told him during the break that he should run for president because he had a good vibe,' The View's executive producer Brian Teta said on the podcast.

'Truthfully, as I said to you at the beginning of this conversation, I don't think that he's a bad guy,' Behar said.

'So if he runs against, say, Gavin Newsom, that would be an interesting debate to see those two because they're both intelligent.'

Behar admitted to Teta that she doesn't 'mind a Republican on the city level because it needs a little discipline,' but that at the national level, notably at the presidency: 'I want somebody with a good heart.'

'And those are more in the Democratic Party in my opinion. They care about the poor, they help people. The Republican Party is much more about saving taxes for rich people. So I'm not a Republican,' she added.

Behar, 83, revealed on Behind the Table with executive producer Brian Teta that she told the Republican Vice President JD Vance that he should make a White House run

Vance, 41, also revealed that Behar turned to him during a commercial break and said: 'You know what, you're, like, pretty good for a Republican'

Vance said that his appearance on the show to promote his book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, pleasantly surprised him, especially the compliments from Behar

Vance, 41, said that his appearance on the show to promote his book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, pleasantly surprised him, especially the compliments from Behar.

While appearing on Fox News, Vance said his time on The View 'wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.'

He revealed that Behar turned to him during a commercial break and said: 'You know what, you're, like, pretty good for a Republican.'

Vance said he was shocked by the comment and told the outlet: 'And I was like, "Whoa, that is a way better compliment than I expected from Joy Behar."'

He also said that the panelists, to his surprise, were 'only a little bit vicious.'

Behar joked with Teta on the podcast appearance that President Donald Trump was perhaps 'jealous' of how The View hosts and Vance seemed to get along fairly well.

She also said she believed, if Vance did become president, that 'he'd go back to being a kinder person.'

'Trump is the one who's not kind,' she added. Behar then clarified to Teta that she wouldn't vote for Vance 'anyway, especially if he's running against one of the good Democrats we have out there.'

Behar admitted that she 'expected him to not have a sense of humor' but was surprised that he did. Yet, she said the vice president 'definitely deflected plenty' on particular questions, including ICE and Jeffrey Epstein

However, The View host, who recently revealed she would be taking a step back from the show while she vacations in Europe before starring in her play My First Ex-Husband, said she had one major point of criticism for Vance.

Behar said that she can't accept Vance's explanation for why he u-turned on his stance on Trump. The vice president claimed he was initially critical due to the president's portrayal in the media.

'Don't give me that. That's where I draw the line on the guy,,' Behar fumed. 'Don't blame me for the fact - you went to Yale law school, you can't read between the lines? You can't watch something and discern what's going on? Come on.'

She admitted that she 'expected him to not have a sense of humor' but was surprised that he did. But she said the vice president 'definitely deflected plenty' on particular questions, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Jeffrey Epstein.

'He wants to run for president. Believe me, he'll be back,' Behar declared.
