Vice President JD Vance suggested Thursday he could run for president in 2028 if he delivers as VP — and only after he consults with President Trump about it.
“When we get to that point, I’ll talk to the president, we’ll figure out what we want to do. But the way that I think about it is, if we do a good job, the politics take care of themselves,” Vance said on “Fox and Friends.”
“There’s so much to do,” he added, “and I don’t really think that much about what happens in three-and-a-half years.”
Republicans in Vance’s circle have told The Post the vice president is a likely frontrunner for the GOP nomination — but stressed that hinges on his performance as Republican National Committee finance chair in the 2026 midterms.
It also depends on whether he gets on Trump’s bad side, the GOP sources said.
Trump, 78, has also floated the possibility of running for a third term and said his team is looking at the constitutional issues posed by the move.
