JD Vance vows ‘compassionate’ border policies if he and Trump are elected

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance promised a compassionate US border approach should he be elected in November with former President Trump at the top of the ticket.

“The Trump-Vance approach to the border is the way to maximize compassion, not just for our citizens, but for everybody,” the Ohio senator, 40, told a Christian forum outside Pittsburgh Saturday.

“Border policy is compassionate, and I think that Republicans have to remind people that.”

Vance faced questions from the audience about what the Christian approach to the migrant crisis should be — and leaned into the issue of protecting children.

“Right now in the United States, we have about 320,000 children that we have lost track of. Now, these are children, many of whom have been para trafficked by drug traffickers, or, God forbid, even sex traffickers,” he said.

“The Democrats, meaning Kamala Harris, wants to tell you that the compassionate thing is to have a wide-open border. I think those 320,000 missing children would beg to differ. The compassionate thing is to control our border, find those children and punish the criminals mistreating them,” Vance continued. ***

“I have friends who say it’s compassionate to let them in,” said Laura Smith, a minister from Monroeville. “What about the compassion for our own?”

In addition to a border crackdown, Trump and Vance have promised to deport as many as 20 million illegal immigrants already living in the United States. The Department of Homeland Security estimates the number is closer to 11 million.

Vance told ABC last month that the plan would scale up and that initially they would “start with 1 million.” ***

Thank you very much and God bless you.

For each illegal employee, every employer/corporate officer should be fined a million dollars and sentenced to a year incarceration. The self-deportation would be epic

Reminds me of Bush 1’s promise of “a kinder, gentler nation.”

Not a good sign.

We wouldn't need a wall if current immigration laws were enforced. Massive workplace enforcement and a compassionate return of illegals back to their country of origin, never to have the permission to enter the US ever again.

The lack of workplace enforcement is evident regardless of who is elected, they simply won't do it. Especially now, the articles always scream who will do disaster work and construction.

JD Vance is just saying that having a border and protecting it IS the compassionate thing to do. It’s not compassionate to aid and abet child traffickers. The article didn’t say that he said an additional thing: it’s not compassionate to let the cartels control who gets in and rape women as part of the cost. For being a champion of women Kamala sure isn’t too bothered about the rape trees. Or about the women raped and killed by the criminals she’s letting g in.

<< The Department of Homeland Security estimates the number is closer to 11 million. >>

Laughable propaganda. Around 11 million have come only in the past 4 years. The overall number is closer to 40 mil. Hope Trump compassionately deports every last one. And to make the job much easier, cut off all the welfare freebies and watch many millions self-deport.

Absolutely, utterly stupid thing to say.

There is no way to wiggle out of it.

The Christian thing to do is to protect the American citizen from the economic destruction of the hordes and the rape, murder, and pillage of the demonic criminals Harris has imported.

Why is it that people think that applying Christianity means to cut off your balls?
