In the wake of yet another “teen takeover” wreaking havoc, US Attorney Judge Jeanine Pirro shared her frustration on X with how woke District of Columbia law enforcement officials are blocking her from holding the “teen takeover” suspects accountable for causing so much disorder in the streets of our nation’s capital.

For reference, “teen takeovers” have become an increasing problem across America as gangs of youths, typically in the inner cities but sometimes also in certain vacation destinations or towns, choose a place where they can overwhelm the law enforcement response by all swarming to it and being a menace, wreaking immense havoc and often causing substantial property damage.

Such has become an increasing problem in DC, where the number of such attacks has increased precipitously even as the Trump Administration tries to crack down on criminality in the city by deploying the National Guard. US Attorney Jeanine Pirro, commenting on the matter on X, explained that part of the problem is that the teen takeover suspects are being protected from facing justice by DC officials.

Her commentary came in response to a post from the DC police explaining, “The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of three suspects involved in an assault that occurred at the Chipotle in Navy Yard. This case remains under investigation and an additional suspect is sought.”

Pirro noted that the only reason any of this is a problem is that the DC Council won’t allow her to punish those who have been arrested, saying, “Three of the teens involved in the chipotle teen takeover have been arrested. Unfortunately, I can’t prosecute them because the DC Council won’t lower the age of accountability.”

Commenters on her post were furious, saying things like “…WHAT?!!!!! It doesn’t matter WHAT AGE THEY ARE, if they are THROWING CHAIRS AND TABLES AT A RESTAURANT WHILE BEATING THE HELL OUT OF EACH OTHER……THEY NEED TO BE SENT TO JAIL!!!!!!” and “Well, if they’re under the age of “accountability”, I would assume their parents aren’t. Lock up the parents…”

Describing the teen takeover in a statement, the DC police had said, “The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of three suspects involved in an assault that occurred at the Chipotle in Navy Yard. On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 8:41 p.m., the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) received a call for a large fight inside of the Chipotle in the 1200 block of First Street, SE.”

It continued, “MPD members were already deployed in the area to monitor a large group and arrived on scene within one minute of the call. The officers were advised that the individuals involved in the fight had already fled the location. Witnesses reported one group of juveniles were inside of the establishment when another group entered, and a fight broke out immediately. Both groups fled prior to the officer’s arrival. No injuries were reported.”

It then noted, “On June 10, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 15-year-old male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Simple Assault and Affray. On June 11, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 16-year-old male, of Southeast, DC, and a 16-year-old male, of Temple Hills, MD, were arrested and charged with Simple Assault and Affray.”
