Jenna Bush Hager has revealed that her father, George W., recently mocked her in public about the time she was arrested for underage drinking at the age of 20, and described his relentless jabs as a 'roast.'

During Monday's episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the mother-of-three was telling her cohost, Hoda Kotb, about her weekend and revealed that she travelled quite a bit and even hung out with her dad and mom Laura.

'I was with my parents, which is always really hilarious because the dynamic... First of all, any moderator that moderates him...,' Jenna began as Hoda, 60, asked: 'Who did moderate?' to which Jenna shouted back: 'Me!'

She then recalled: 'I would give some insight here or there when I felt like I could but other than that, he would be like, "Yeah Jen okay, why don't you tell everybody about the time you were arrested,"' as mother-of-two Hoda burst out laughing.

Jenna, 42, continued: 'It was just a one-hour roast. I would ask questions, he would roast me a little, I would ask a question, a slight roast, and that's what happened - but it was fun and funny.'

Jenna, pictured here with her father in April 2021, claimed the former President was 'roasting' her at a recent event

The former first daughter then revealed: 'And President Obama was there so we got to see him for a little bit, and he was like, "How do you do that? Why do you come and do this?"'

A stunned Hoda asked: 'Wait, President Obama said this to you?' as Jenna replied: 'Yes to me, he must have seen some of the roasting and he said, "This must be hard for you," and I said, "Yes, it is."'

Keen to pay her cohost a compliment, Hoda then said: 'By the way, I have to say, I don't think you've seen a speech until you've seen this girl give a speech because I've been in attendance at some of your speeches.

'She usually walks in going, "I don't know what's going to happen," and then suddenly in 10 seconds, you have a crowd in your hand, you're telling stories, everything's unique and new.'

Jenna admitted: 'You know, I usually just get up there and kind of cry. [It's] just like all sorts of emotions, but it was a lot of fun and I'm happy to be home.'

This certainly isn't the first time that Jenna has mentioned her 2001 arrest on the NBC morning show as last year she accused Today show producers of trying to shame her and her twin sister, Barbara, for their underage drinking.

Back in November 2023, Jenna was hosting the show with her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, when they played a game called 'First Loves' that wasn't as innocent as it seemed.

Jenna accused her producers of setting her up after they were caught off guard by a question that alluded to their past brush-ups with the law.

Jenna and her twin sister, Barbara, were famously busted for underage drinking during their freshman year of college. The twin sisters are pictured in 2004

When Jenna hosted Today with Hoda and Jenna with her sister in November 2003, they were forced to play a game called First Cocktail I Ever Loved

'The first cocktail I ever loved... Wow,' Barbara, who was filling in for Hoda, said.

'I think they're trying to shame us,' Jenna chimed in. 'With our underage drinking, minor possession of alcohol,' as Barbara agreed: 'Yeah, that was rude.'

The Bush twins were famously caught underage drinking during their freshman year of college in 2001, just months after their father was sworn into office as President.

Both women have been candid about being busted for underage drinking and even wrote about it in their 2017 memoir, Sisters First.

Jenna was a freshman at The University of Texas at Austin when she was first picked up by police for drinking a beer in a club in April of 2001 and pleaded no contest to a charge of possessing alcohol underage that same month.

She was ordered to pay $51.25 in court costs while serving eight hours of community service, and she also had to attend an alcohol awareness class.

The next month, Barbara, who was a student at Yale University, was visiting Jenna in Austin when they were arrested for attempting to purchase alcohol at Chuy's, a Mexican chain restaurant.

That came after the manager notified authorities from the restaurant to report that a group of individuals who did not look 21 were ordering alcoholic beverages.
