Jenna Ortega’s sister reacts to fans’ concern over actress’ weight loss

Jenna Ortega’s sister Aliyah Ortega had a telling response to viral fan concern over the actress’ appearance.

The “Wednesday” star’s younger sibling reacted to an Instagram post Wednesday telling social media users to “mind [their] business and leave @jennaortega alone.”

The 22-year-old commented on the upload with three exclamation points, appearing to co-sign the lengthy statement.

The caption noted that people have been making “assumptions about [Jenna’s] health” following an Esquire interview published Tuesday.

“She has every right to make whatever decisions she feels are best for herself without being judged, discriminated against or subjected to unnecessary speculation,” the individual wrote. “Sometimes the most respectful thing we can do is simply give someone privacy, support them, and let them be.”

The post also referenced Jenna’s recent statement that she would “go all day” without eating or drinking on set as a child star in order to not “be in the way.”

The caption read, “We don’t know what she may be going through, and we shouldn’t assume anything based on appearances or a few comments from an interview.

“Stop concerning yourselves with her personal life and asking intrusive, unnecessary, and random questions. … Just leave Jenna alone and allow her to live her life on her own terms.”

The “You” alum, notably, has yet to address online chatter — which comes on the heels of Ariana Grande announcing a step back from the spotlight amid concern about her health as well.

Jenna’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The Golden Globe nominee, who has four siblings, said during her Esquire sitdown that she told her parents about her acting dreams at age 7 — and they laughed.

“That kind of was the root of everything. The motivation,” Jenna, 23, said. “I never really stopped, because I’m very stubborn. And then I never questioned it.”

The former Disney Channel star nearly quit acting altogether at the thought of transitioning her roles on “Stuck in the Middle” and “Jane the Virgin” into more mature parts.

“It just felt like a good time to call it quits if I was going to,” Jenna explained on Kid Cudi’s “Big Bro” podcast in April. “I was starting high school, and, ‘it was a good run’ sort of thing. We had talked about it for a few months with my team.”

However, she recalled, “I booked that show ‘You,’ and then I went on that set, and I loved it and had the best time. I thought, ‘Yeah, there’s no way I could let this go.'”
