Viral golf star Min Woo Lee was congratulated by an unlikely fan after landing his first PGA Tour title at the weekend - with Justin Bieber calling him up to toast the victory.

Following his brief Instagram hiatus, Bieber - whose erratic behavior of late has concerned his die-hard legion of fans - returned to the platform with a screenshot of himself on FaceTime to Lee after his win at the Houston Open on Sunday.

'Congrats @minwoo27lee' he wrote as the caption along with a trophy emoji.

Lee, nicknamed 'the Chef', re-shared the picture on his own Instagram story and said: 'J frickin B' along with a red love-heart emoji.

The Australian golfer has become a social-media sensation in recent years due to his hilarious posts and fun personality, allowing him to rack up 734k followers on Instagram and just over 340k on TikTok as a result.

Along with 28-year-old sister Minjee, a two-time major winner, the Lees are golfing royalty in Australia after becoming the 16th siblings to represent the nation in the same sport at the same Olympic Games in Paris last year.

Bieber has sparked fears over his health and marriage to wife Hailey in recent weeks

It is unclear how long Lee has known Bieber, though their warm interaction appears to suggest they have been friends for some time.

The pop icon's FaceTime call with Lee comes after he sparked fears over his health and marriage to wife Hailey after airing out his emotional struggles on social media in recent weeks.

On Instagram, he recently uploaded a video of a jam session with other musician pals and wrote: 'I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic.

'Then I remember we're all being made to think we're not enough but I still hate when I change myself to please people.'

It came shortly after he admitted to having 'anger issues' in another online post.

Concerns over his marriage to Hailey have only grown in recent weeks, with fans alarmed by his increasingly unkempt appearance and emotional posts online.

Bieber was also accused of 'disrespecting' his wife after he uploaded a photo of a child flashing their middle fingers along with the text: 'me behind my girlfirend after she make me mad.'
