This is pretty cool by President Trump.
Back in February 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs brought home their first Super Bowl championship in five decades by beating the San Francisco 49ers in the “Big Game.”
With that being said, only weeks following the Chiefs winning Super Bowl LIV, the U.S. shut down because of the COVID pandemic, meaning the team wasn’t able to make a trip to the White House.
Since that time, the Chiefs have won two more Super Bowls. However, 2020 featured its own unique roster like every season does. So with this being the case, a good chunk of players weren’t able to enjoy the White House experience that goes along with a Super Bowl ring. Well, President Donald Trump wants to fix that situation.
“I look forward to having the Eagles, and one other thing, we’re going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that because they missed their turn because of COVID,” said Trump.
Clark Hunt, the CEO and Chairman of the Kansas City Chiefs, says that the franchise is going to do everything possible to make sure the White House visit takes place.
“We’re very honored that the president would think about us, going back to the 2019 season, when we didn’t get to go to the White House. We certainly would like to try to figure out how to make that happen,” said Hunt to The Athletic while the Annual League Meeting was happening Monday.
