The Kansas City Chiefs have been handed a huge injury boost this week ahead of the NFL playoffs.
With the Chiefs' Super Bowl three-peat quest set to enter its final stretch, Kansas City has designated cornerback Jaylen Watson to return from IR, according to FOX.
Watson has been sidelined with a broken fibular since late October and his return is a huge boost for the reigning champions.
He is reportedly set to practice at the end of Week 18 - the final week of the regular season.
Watson will now have 21 days to be activated to the 53-man roster and could be available to make an official return for Kansas City’s first postseason game in the divisional round.
The defensive star has not played since the Chiefs' Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers on October 20.

Watson was seen leaving the locker room on crutches with his left foot in a cast following the 28-18 victory.
Watson had been a rising star in coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's defense, helping Kansas City shut down some of the NFL's best offenses through the first six games of the season.
He recorded 32 total tackles with six passes defensed in six games this season before being sidelined.
