Karmelo Anthony sympathizers have landed on a disgusting way to mock Austin Metcalf, the 17-year-old boy who Anthony murdered in April 2025.

“I woke up and chose violence,” one man wrote on Instagram, according to a screenshot. The man also called for Anthony’s release. (RELATED: Karmelo Anthony’s Parents Use First Interviews Since Guilty Verdict To Cast Themselves As The Real Victims)

The man attached an image of himself urinating on Metcalf’s grave. The photo appears to be generated with artificial intelligence tools. The man who posted the image admitted as much in an Instagram story, which reads, according to a screenshot: “Mfs Be Mad At AI … that’s what be crazy shows how racist yall is[.]”

This is an Olympic-tier leap of logic: Outrage at a man depicting himself desecrating the grave of a murdered white teenager is somehow evidence of anti-black racism.

Several other Anthony supporters followed suit, posting presumably AI-generated images of themselves urinating on Metcalf’s grave. (RELATED: DUKE: The Lesson Karmelo Anthony’s Parents Refuse To Teach)

One might argue — as Anthony’s own attorneys did — that Anthony acted in self-defense. Even that is a fairly ridiculous interpretation of Anthony stabbing an unarmed stranger.

But Anthony supporters seem, on the whole, incapable of making measured arguments for the murderer’s innocence. The constant invocation of anti-black racism would be laughable, if it weren’t so insidious. It’s a heavy-handed attempt at moral blackmail: Agree with us or you’re racist

There’s no arguing with people who wish to coerce you in that manner. Their conclusions are predetermined and rooted in ethnic narcissism.

Consider how Dominique Alexander, a representative for the Anthony family, responded to the guilty verdict Tuesday.

“What this process did, it’s shown that black lives do not matter in Collin County … This trial shows that it put emotions over the law. After Trayvon Martin and so many countless names, it has shown us that black life is not safe in Collin County.”

Such self-serving nonsense deserves to be mocked and denied legitimacy.
