KFC has launched a massive Pokemon crossover across Singapore, transforming all 71 of its restaurants into Pokemon Go destinations and introducing everything from gaming chopsticks to a Charizard jacket.
The limited-time promotion, titled The Ultimate Launch by KFC, began on August 19 and will remain available through September 29.
Every KFC restaurant in Singapore now serves as either a PokeStop or Gym, allowing Pokemon Go players to collect items and participate in battles while visiting the chain. The official campaign website includes a map showing the participating locations.
Five restaurants have also received physical makeovers based on different Pokemon types. KFC NEX represents Water, JEM is Fire, Kallang is Electric, Compass One is Ghost and Jurong Point is Grass.
KFC Pokemon merch includes Charizard jacket and Poke Ball pouch
The first merchandise drop arrives alongside the August 19 launch and includes reversible Poke Ball pouches priced at S$14.95.
Each blind pouch initially resembles a Poke Ball but can be turned inside out to reveal Pikachu, Eevee, Mew or Snorlax. Customers cannot choose which design they receive, and the pouches are sold with a Japanese Nanban Zinger or Chicken Bites Box.
A larger second wave will follow on September 9, headlined by a S$99 Pokemon Evolution Jacket featuring Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard across the back.
According to CNA Lifestyle, the jacket will only be sold at five restaurants and is limited to one per customer. Buyers must also purchase a Japanese Nanban Zinger or Chicken Bites Box.
The September drop additionally includes a 23cm Poke Ball storage bucket for S$12.95, Pikachu and Gengar gaming chopsticks for S$15.95 and a pair of Pikachu car neck pillows for S$32.95. The chopsticks will only be available through delivery orders.
KFC has introduced a Japanese Nanban menu for the crossover as well, featuring a Zinger coated in sweet and tangy soy glaze, chicken bites, loaded fries and sweet potato mochi balls.
More than 200 beginner Pokemon TCG tutorial sessions will be held at selected restaurants in September, while Pikachu will appear for meet-and-greet events at three locations on August 29.
The takeover follows KFC’s recent Evangelion collaboration featuring a purple burger and McDonald’s release of a Pokemon French fries timer.
