Kim Zolciak’s son KJ Biermann, 15, dealt legal blow in sodomy and sexual battery case

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., was denied his request to close the courtroom in his sodomy and sexual battery case — but was granted other privacy protections.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge denied KJ’s motion to close the courtroom after “finding that the high legal standard for permitting a closed courtroom was not met by Defendant,” according to new court documents exclusively obtained by Page Six.

However, the court granted KJ’s motion to restrict media recording and photography to the extent necessary to carry out the court’s protective measures.

The judge also granted protections for KJ’s juvenile court records and specifically ordered that any such records “shall be filed under seal,” keeping them from public view.

Notably, Leftridge denied KJ’s request to prevent prosecutors from presenting limited information from his juvenile court case that is pertinent to the court’s consideration of his bond.

Page Six confirmed Friday morning that prosecutors filed an emergency motion requesting the court to order forensic interviews of “minor children.”

The high school student was arrested last month and indicted on seven charges: aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child under 16 and false imprisonment.

KJ’s arrest came after his female classmate accused him of sexually assaulting her in a co-ed sauna at the Life Time fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia on April 23.

The alleged victim claimed that KJ forced himself on her after she told him no, according to court documents. She claimed to investigators that KJ made “multiple” attempts to have “sexual intercourse with her by trying to pull down her pants.”

She also accused him of forcing oral sex and digitally penetrating her vagina.

KJ’s lawyer, Jason Sheffield, told Page Six in a statement that his client is “100% innocent, and his mom has also defended her son, claiming, “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct.”

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, 48, also supported her son at his Sept. 11 bond hearing. Zolciak’s estranged husband, 41, was also there, though the exes didn’t interact.

KJ was granted a $200,000 bond last Friday — with strict stipulations put in place.

Page Six exclusively reported that he must surrender his passport to his pretrial officer before being released from custody.

Once released, KJ is banned from using his cellphone or any form of social media and he must attend school virtually by staying at his mom’s house. He is also subject to electronic monitoring.

KJ is not allowed to be in direct or indirect contact with the alleged victim, her family or associates, and he is banned from being in contact with anyone under the age of 16.

During the hearing, prosecutors claimed there were multiple videos of KJ having sex with an underage family member found on his cellphone. Due to the alleged incident that occurred in April 2023, he has allegedly been under court supervision since October 2025.

Page Six exclusively reported Thursday that KJ’s parents confiscated his cellphone a year before prosecutors said investigators discovered the disturbing videos — though it remains unclear if the incident was connected to those clips.
