Dolce and Gabbana has been suspiciously quiet despite dressing Lauren Sanchez in a stunning black dress for Donald Trump's candlelight inauguration dinner as liberals boycott Oscar de la Renta for dressing Ivanka Trump.
Sanchez, 55, called the night a 'magical evening' on Instagram as she showed off her stunning black dress that featured a glittery strapless top and a silk draped skirt from the Italian designer.
She and her billionaire lover, Jeff Bezos, 61, were seen talking to fellow tech titan Elon Musk, 53, ahead of the event as the socialite held tightly to her man's arm.
At the same event, Ivanka Trump, 43, was seen sparkling in a hand-beaded crystal and pearl gown made by American brand Oscar de la Renta. The same designer also dressed Second Lady Usha Vance, 39, for the event in a dress cut similar to Sanchez's.
Liberal fans of the brand had a visceral reaction after seeing the First Daughter and Second Lady wearing the renowned American brand, which proudly posted images of the two women in their custom get-ups.
'Bye Oscar de la Renta. I know you won't be canceled but you are to me for having no f**king morals,' one X user wrote.
Oscar de la Renta was created by a Dominican-born designer of the same name who died in 2014. His company is based in the US and has a long history of dressing First Ladies and those connected to the American president.
Jill Biden, 73, has been seen wearing the brand in the past. The educator wore a custom gown from the brand featuring an embroidered rose field on it during the White House Donor Dinner in November.

Sanchez, herself, wore a custom dress from the brand for the 2024 Met Gala, where she was seen wearing a shattered glass design featuring a rose to fit the theme.
Meanwhile, it appears Dolce & Gabbana is more focused on featuring their fall and winter men's line at Milan Fashion Week rather than engaging in American politics.
The brand has previously shown off its designs worn by celebrities on its social media, with the most recent batch coming from the Golden Globes, where The Rock and Dakota Johnson were seen wearing the brand, among others.
Another Italian fashion house, Schiaparelli, has also been silent about Sanchez being dressed in their designs, which she posted to her social media account during the inauguration festivities. It comes as Sanchez and her boyfriend become closer with Trump ahead of his second term, which begins today.
Bezos, alongside Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk - who was given a position of power inside the Trump administration - are attending the inauguration.
Zuckerberg and Bezos, alongside Apple's Tim Cook, were seen sitting together inside the church ahead of the inauguration.
It further highlights their efforts to develop a closer relationship with the incoming president, who has already tasked Musk with leading his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Bezos and Zuckerberg have less close relationship with Trump compared to Musk, but both have made moves since the election to curry favor with the president-elect, including meeting with him at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Meta CEO Zuckerberg signaled a rightward political swerve last week when he announced Facebook and Instagram would scrap fact-checking in the United States, a response to what he characterized as censorship by governments and so-called legacy media.
Bezos's relationship with Trump, on the other hand, has seen moments of significant friction in the past.
The founder of Amazon also owns The Washington Post, one of the many newspapers Trump has railed against for years.
In a decision that shocked many in US media, The Post declined to endorse a presidential candidate ahead of the November election.
According to a report by the paper, Bezos intervened to block the board from publishing its editorial in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris.
The paper's leadership denied that report.
Bezos's aerospace company Blue Origin also competes for lucrative government contracts.
