Hudson Valley Rep. Mike Lawler vowed to pursue a “full investigation” of New Jersey congressional hopeful Dr. Adam Hisham Hamawy, who clinched the Democratic nod Tuesday, over his ties to the late terrorist figure.
Hamawy briefly served as a translator and later a defense witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, also known as the “Blind Sheik,” who was convicted on terrorism and conspiracy charges in the mid 1990s.

More recently, Hamawy publicly defended a hospital in the Gaza Strip that was later found to have been sitting over a Hamas tunnel network.
“If he’s elected in November, I’ll push for a full investigation because the American people deserve the truth,” Lawler (R-NY) told Fox News, referring to Hamawy, who is running in a safe Democratic district.
