The highly anticipated upcoming Marvel game appears to be no more after being paused indefinitely. But don’t worry, a new Lego Warner Bros. game is reportedly coming in its place.

Whether it was Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, or even Lord of the Rings, Lego has made a ton of popular video games based on iconic IPs. As such, it’s built up quite a following, with fans adoring the bricky adventures, regardless of whether it came out ten years ago or recently.

So, with the love for Lego games and Marvel (especially with Doomsday coming up), it was a pretty natural fit to combine the two and promise a Lego Marvel game by TT Games, the official Lego video game studio. Well, unfortunately, that seems to be no more.

New Lego Warner Bros IP game coming soon

According to Lego Games News on X, “The ‘Lego Marvel Games’ Series has been put on hold for the unforeseeable future,” meaning those anticipations about playing as a Lego Iron Man or Thor will have to wait.

However, all is not lost, as they also explained that “The next Lego Game is officially confirmed to be focused on a major Warner Bros IP by their August report,” so we’ll be getting a game soon, just based on a different Warner Bros IP.

Naturally, fans have been predicting which IP it would be, with many suggesting Superman, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones – with a rather hilarious title of Lego: Game of Thrones: The Game (of Thrones), and Lord of the Rings.

Of course, we’ve recently had a Batman Lego game and a Star Wars adventure, so those are unlikely. We do also have Hogwarts Legacy 2 coming out soon, which could either complement or clash with an upcoming Lego game. However, Lord of the Rings games are currently being shadowdropped everywhere, and Game of Thrones is back in the news thanks to House of the Dragon, so perhaps we’ll see those in block form?

Nothing has been officially confirmed by either Warner Bros or TT Games, but we do know that “It will be a long time before a new game in the series is developed,” so don’t expect any release dates coming soon.
