Eight new Pokemon Smart Play Lego sets have been revealed by leakers, and some of them are undeniably cursed.
Whether you want to build an adorable Eevie statue, Pikachu, or the final evolution of the first three starters, Pokemon and Lego have plenty of exciting sets for you to collect.
Another eight new sets are coming, with a major focus on Smart Play, a new interactive system that gives Lego sets dynamic lighting, sound effects, movement, and reactions.
However, while these sets will include iconic characters like Geodude, Charizard, Cubone, and Gengar, a few will certainly keep you up at night.
New Lego Pokemon sets branded “ugly as hell” by fans
Sharing the upcoming sets, due to arrive in August 2026, The Brick News and Brick Build Blogs revealed nine designs:
- Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown: 782 Pieces
- Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash: 198 Pieces
- Jigglypuff: 8 Pieces
- Charizard vs Jolteon Ultimate Battle: 751 Pieces
- Training House with Pikachu: 400 Pieces
- Mewtwo’s Lab Break: 605 Pieces
- Eevee and Lapras’ Treasure Hunt: 623 Pieces
- Drone Search for Mythical Mew: 429 Pieces
- Trainer’s Buggy Adventure With Squirtle: 320 Pieces
While some fans were thrilled that their favorite Pokemon were getting sets, others commented on their rather questionable looks.
“Why did they think it’s a good idea that Pikachu’s tummy lights up like it’s radioactive?” wrote one commenter, joking about the rather obvious Smart Brick forced into Pikachu’s stomach.
Others added: “Oh god, these look awful, that f***ing smart brick is only pricing these sets up, that Mewtwo…f***ing horrid” with another calling them “Ugly ass butt sets.”
Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and many are loving the representation of Lapras, Cubone, and Mewtwo, but once you look at the weird Pikachu training house (which I’m lovingly calling the Pikatree), it’s hard to think of anything else that’ll certainly appear in your nightmares tonight.
