Leicester Tigers centre Solomone Kata has been suspended for four weeks following his sending-off against former club Exeter.

The 29-year-old Tongan was dismissed nine minutes from time following a head-on-head clash with Jack Yeandle, but Leicester won the Premiership match 17-14.

Kata was unavailable for this weekend's game against Bath because of head injury assessment (HIA) protocols.

But he will now, in addition, miss all October's fixtures against Newcastle, Northampton Saints, Saracens and Gloucester.

Kata will not, therefore, be available to play again in the Premiership until the trip to Sale at the beginning of December.

The former New Zealand rugby league international joined Leicester in May 2023 following his release by the Chiefs.

He has scored four tries for the Tigers but last season served a three-match ban for a dangerous tackle on Northampton's Fraser Dingwall.
