We look ahead to Friday’s Premier League game at the King Power Stadium with our Leicester vs Brentford prediction and preview. Thomas Frank’s men will look to continue their upturn in away form.
Leicester vs Brentford Stats: The Key Insights
- The Opta supercomputer is backing Brentford to come away with the three points on Friday, winning 46% of pre-match simulations.
- Leicester have scored fewer first-half goals in terms of total (seven) and proportion (28%) than any other Premier League side this season.
- Only bottom side Southampton (172) have faced more shots on target than Brentford in the Premier League this season (151).
Brentford will look to continue their push for a top-half Premier League finish when they travel to take on beleaguered Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Friday.
It’s been another solid season for Brentford, sitting comfortably in 11th place and looking certain to be in the top flight for a fifth straight campaign, with 17 points separating them from the bottom three.
They appear to have left their troubles on the road behind them, too, which had badly hampered them earlier in the campaign considering their impressive home record. Having failed to win any of their first nine Premier League away games this season (two draws, seven defeats), Brentford have now won each of their last three (vs Southampton, Crystal Palace and West Ham).
They last won four consecutive league games on the road in September 2011 in League One and have never done so in the top flight, but that could change on Friday.
Kevin Schade scored in all three of those away victories, and he could become the first Brentford player since Ivan Toney in December 2020 to find the net in four consecutive away league matches.
Bryan Mbeumo will be another Brentford forward licking his lips to get at Leicester’s defence, who have conceded the second most goals in the league with 55. Mbeumo has been involved in 12 goals in his last nine Premier League games against promoted sides (seven goals, five assists), with three braces in his four such games this term.
While Brentford’s away form has improved, Leicester’s record at the King Power Stadium seems to be getting worse, a big factor in them currently sitting 19th and looking increasingly likely to be going straight back down to the Championship after coming up as champions last season.
After last week’s late 2-0 defeat to Arsenal, Leicester have lost each of their last five Premier League home games – they’ve never lost six in a row on home soil in their league history.
The Foxes lost those five matches by an aggregate score of 11-0. The only team to lose six consecutive Premier League home games without scoring are Norwich City (June 2020 to August 2021), with no side doing so in a single campaign before.
Jamie Vardy, who leads the scoring charts for Leicester with seven Premier League goals this term, has never scored in four previous league appearances against Brentford – he’s only faced Cardiff City (five) more often in his English league career without a goal.
In terms of team news, Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain without Ricardo Pereira and Abdul Fatawu, while James Justin is a doubt after coming off in the first half of the 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal last time out.
For Frank, he won’t have any of Aaron Hickey, Joshua Dasilva, Sepp van den Berg or Rico Henry available.
Leicester vs Brentford Head-to-Head
Leicester are unbeaten in their last four home league games against Brentford (two wins, two draws), having failed to win any of their first eight such meetings with the Bees, albeit those were between 1937 and 1953.
Brentford came from behind to win 4-1 in the reverse fixture, ending an eight-game winless run against Leicester in the league (three draws, five defeats). Schade scored a hat-trick in that match after providing an assist for Yoane Wissa to cancel out Facundo Buonannote’s opener.

Only in the 1952-53 campaign have Brentford ever done the league double over Leicester.
Leicester vs Brentford Prediction
Brentford are backed by the Opta supercomputer to continue their fine away form of late on Friday, winning 46% of its 10,000 pre-match simulations.
Leicester badly need the points, and they earn a much-needed victory 29.1% of the time. The draw is given a probability of 24.9%.
