Liam Payne’s psychiatrist reportedly decided to drop the late One Direction singer as a patient weeks before his sudden death.

The mental healthcare professional advised in September that Payne needed a “higher level of care” than she could provide, per a letter obtained by TMZ on Monday.

In the document filed with the court in Argentina, the musician’s former doctor reportedly noted that she made the decision to stop seeing him as a patient “after careful consideration and assessment.”

Despite no longer providing psychiatric care to Payne, she reportedly recommended that he continue with a treatment plan.

Per TMZ, she advised the singer to take medications “only as prescribed” and avoid “heavy drinking” while on medication.

Payne — who died on October 16 — was also advised to do weekly therapy, meet with his primary care doctor and have “further testing” done.

The “Teardrops” singer was encouraged to “regularly” speak to a therapist in order to “process [his] depression and trauma.”

Payne’s former psychiatrist reportedly told him it was “vital” to for him to do so in order to manage his mental health care properly.

She also provided him a list with rehab facilities and doctors that could assist him on his journey.

“Thank you for your understanding, and I wish you the very best in your continued journey toward mental health and well-being,” she signed the letter, per TMZ.
