Lindsey Graham Quickly Changes His Tune About Gaetz as AG

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) pleaded with fellow Republicans to back Donald Trump’s choice as attorney general, Matt Gaetz, after initially sounding skeptical about the bombshell pick.

Appearing on Fox News’ Hannity on Wednesday, Graham said: “To every Republican, give Matt a chance.”

His remark came amid a growing rebellion from GOP ranks over the surprise decision. Several Republican senators openly showed their disdain, saying it wasn’t a “serious” appointment.

Graham told Sean Hannity: “I’m telling my Democratic friends, elections have consequences whether you like it or not. You are accusing Matt of doing the very thing that you did. Matt Gaetz didn’t lie under oath, Matt Gaetz did not sign FISA warrants that were based on Russian disinformation, so we’re going to give the president a chance to put his people forward.”

Earlier Wednesday, Graham was less certain about the choice.

He was asked by CNN’s Manu Raju what he thought about Gaetz being nominated as Trump pieced together his Cabinet following his 2024 presidential election victory. Graham replied: “I don’t know yet, I’ll have to think about that one.”

“Do you have any concerns about him?” he was asked.

“We’ll see,” Graham replied.

Make Lindsey US Ambassador to Antarctica.

Lindsay is greatly compromised. It is always entertaining to watch his strings getting pulled.

To: cotton1706

He’s talking out of both sides of his mouth to two different audiences. Never trust him.

Blowback from whom?

It seems the blowback would have been the other way around.

First he was tentative and THAT is the side RINOs are on...worse than tentative.

Then he more solidly supported the pick.

Who is gonna give blowback to make him SUPPORT that pick?

Very few, that’s who.

I love the pick.

But it’s not popular in DC

Sen. Lindsey Graham needs to GET that it ain’ about him! He needs to stop the s%*t stirring and get to work!

We don’t need a re play of the first Trump administration where the RINO’s who not only didn’t support Trump but they worked actively to hobble his efforts! STOP IT!

Gaetz is a pit bull. He's exactly what we need as AG.

And senators and congressmen who get in Trump's way might learn quickly that they are going against their own constituents.

Trump is mobilizing America and the more America hears about his transition plans, the more mobilized it will be.

The Trump train is just beginning to roll.

I think Lindsay is the one doing the blowing.

Graham realized that he can either have Gaetz as the AG for 4 years (tops) or he can have Gaetz as a colleague in the Senate for the rest of his career.

He is choosing the former.

As congressman, he chewed AG Garland up and spit him out.

Thune doesn’t care about his constituents. He is “mini-Mitch” (referring to Bitch McConnell) who is universally hated in his own state but has no serious opponents and a mountain of name recognition.

Gaetz is the strongest spine we have in the United States Congress bar none.

Some of these “alleged” Republican Senators know full well that a Gaetz led DOJ will go after some of the crooked RINO’s too.

It should be a piece of cake to convince him it’s only a summertime job, from May through September.
