Participants diagnosed with pericarditis reported experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, and fainting more often than those diagnosed with myocarditis. However, participants diagnosed with myocarditis more frequently reported experiencing fatigue. Similarly, females reported experiencing physical symptoms more frequently than males and Māori participants reported shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, and fainting more often than nonMāori.
