Boys are the rarely referenced main character of Freya India's new book: they are the target consumer of Girls®. Their appetites drive the attention economy in which young women compete. Does that make them satisfied customers? Hardly. Satisfaction doesn't describe the relationship young men have with this glut of sexual content. Their posture is no longer just consumption but competition. Envious of the cheap attention girls receive, boys have started marketing themselves toward the same end, in a distinctly feminine way.
