Hong Kong was shrouded in fog on Saturday, as a band of rain and clouds covered the coast of Guangdong.
While it said the band would gradually thin out over the next couple of days and later bring in brighter weather, the Hong Kong Observatory predicted that next week would still be largely cloudy and rainy.
“Winds are expected to be weak over the coastal areas midweek next week. Visibility will be relatively low and the weather will be rather warm during the day,” the forecaster said.
“Under the influence of the upper-air disturbances, there will be a few showers over the coast of southern China in the latter part of next week. There will be thunderstorms over inland areas.”
Temperatures stood between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius (66.2 and 70 Fahrenheit) on Saturday, with a relative humidity of 91 per cent.
