Luigi Mangione stayed at same ‘barbaric’ NYC prison as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, whose lawyer is married to his lawyer

Accused UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione spent his first night back in the Big Apple under the same NYC federal prison as disgraced rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The two inmates, who are both awaiting trials for their respective high-profile federal cases, are locked away at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Mangione was arrested on Dec. 9 over the suspected killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Mangione agreed to be extradited from Blair County Pa. hours earlier, where he had been held since he was nabbed by police at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pa.

The 26-year-old Baltimore native landed at Long Island’s MacArthur Airport before being flown into Manhattan Thursday afternoon, landing at the South Street Helopda street helipad where authorities transported him to the Manhattan Federal Court.

Mangione faces an 11-count indictment levied against him by state prosecutors in the Dec. 4 fatal shooting on Thompson outside the Hilton in Midtown.

He is due to return to Pennsylvania on Feb. 24 for a preliminary hearing over criminal charges in the Keystone State, where he was arrested.   

Combs is sitting behind bars at the Brooklyn lockup facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and prostitution.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The infamous Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park has been plagued by tales of “barbaric” and “reprehensible” conditions for inmates.

The jail itself has faced intense scrutiny in recent years amid a spate of vicious inmate attacks and complaints about dismal living conditions — including worm and maggot-infested food, filthy cells and power outages.

Along with Mangione and Combs, the complex has also held notorious sex abusers R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Brooklyn federal lockup isn’t the only connection between the two inmates.

Last week Mangione hired high-powered lawyer Karen Friedman-Agnifilo to represent him.

Friedman-Agnifilo is married to Marc Agnifilio, who has been representing the rapper as he battles sex trafficking charges.

She is a former prosecutor who ditched her longtime position as the head of the sex crimes unit in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in 2021 to join her husband’s private firm, Agnifilo Intrater LLP.

Her marital relationship even caused career strife at times — Friedman-Agnifilo was forced to recuse herself from several cases in which her husband was representing accused suspects, including Harvey Weinstein’s rape prosecution.
