Motorists are facing lengthy delays on the M25 during rush hour this morning following a large vehicle fire.
Three lanes remain closed on the M25 anti-clockwise between J29 and J28 after a blaze involving a heavy goods vehicle.
The incident was first reported at around 11pm last night between J29 (Romford/Basildon) and the Dartford Crossing.
National Highways has confirmed that lanes are closed to support a "complex vehicle recovery and clear the carriageway".
The lorry has been transported onto a recovery vehicle, but needs to be secured before it can be removed from the scene.
National Highways estimates delays of around two hours, with approximately 13 miles of congestion on the approach to the Dartford Crossing.
The transport organisation said it had supported Essex County Fire and Rescue Service as it extinguished the fire "for several hours".

It added that the lorry was fully laden, meaning the contents of the lorry had to be removed using grab lorries.
From this point, specialist recovery teams loaded the HGV onto a recovery vehicle before being removed from the scene.
The affected area of the M25 still needs to be swept to remove any remaining debris before it can reopen.

National Highways will then need to assess the carriageway and safety barriers for damage before reopening all lanes.
It warned: "If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
