A 35-year-old mainland Chinese man has been injured in a suspected knife attack in Hong Kong.
Police said they received a report at 5.57am on Monday that the man was spotted lying on the ground next to an herbal tea shop on Bute Street in Mong Kok.
The victim, surnamed Yeung, was transported to Kwong Wah Hospital with suspected knife wounds on his left thigh and bleeding in his right eye.
He held a two-way exit permit, a document issued by mainland authorities that allows residents to enter the city as visitors.
According to the force, the victim said he was attacked at a building at 732 Nathan Road but was too drunk to identify the assailant.
Police have classified the case as wounding, with officers from the force’s Mong Kok district looking into the case.
