Some of the most popular brands in the world have announced a vehicle recall for hundreds of thousands of vehicles that could lead to safety issues.
The likes of Volkswagen, Ford and General Motors have filed vehicle recalls in the United States amid fears that drivers and passengers could be impacted.
GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls issued over recent weeks that motorists need to know about.
Volkswagen
Fresh documents registered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States indicate that 22,524 vehicles are being recalled.
The notice warns that the high-voltage battery inside Volkswagen ID.4 models (2023-2026) may lead to a vehicle fire.
Owners of the affected EVs are being told to charge their vehicles only to a maximum of 80 per cent battery capacity until the repair has been completed.

Chrysler
A notice has been issued for 265,512 vehicles, including the Ram 1500 ProMaster (2022-2026), Ram 2500 ProMaster (2022-2026), Ram 3500 ProMaster (2022-2026), and Ram 3500 Electric (2024-2026).
It warned that water may enter the electric power steering wiring harness, which can disable power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA stated that dealers will inspect and replace the wiring harness and electronic power steering gear, as necessary, free of charge.
The Ford Ranger
Ford
More than 11,400 Ford Ranger vehicles equipped with a 10.1-inch centre stack screen from the 2026 model year are being recalled.
The NHTSA warns that a rearview camera image may not display, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Since the screen may lose power and fail to show the rearview camera image, the vehicles would fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111 (Rear Visibility).
The Cadillac Optiq
CADILLAC
General Motors
Almost 30,000 Cadillac Optiq models are being recalled by GM, with owner notification letters expected to be sent at the start of November.
When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction.
This can lead to a passenger being pinched before retracting, meaning the vehicles fail to adhere to FMVSS number 118 (Power-Operated Window Systems).
