Motorists are being warned that almost 900,000 vehicles are being recalled over fears that car issues could prompt serious accidents or injuries.
The likes of Ford, Hyundai and Chrysler have issued recall notices in the United States in response to issues that could create issues for drivers and other road users.
GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls issued over recent weeks that motorists need to know about.
Ford
Documents registered with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) state that 223,472 vehicles could be at risk.
The fuel tank of certain 2023-2027 Ford F-150 vehicles may be improperly secured and leak fuel, or detach from the vehicle while driving.
The regulator states that a detached tank can cause a road hazard, prompt an engine stall or increase the risk of a fire.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed out later this month, while dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tank straps as necessary.
Chrysler
The American manufacturing giant has announced three huge recalls that will impact almost 665,000 vehicles.
Around 239,000 Ram 1500 vehicles (2025-2026) may have a radio software error that may cause the rearview camera image not to display.
As a result of this, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111 (Rear Visibility).
Chrysler is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE amid fears the rear coil springs could detach from the vehicle while driving.
To remedy the issue, dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. In total, 328,381 models are being recalled.
The third recall, for 97,000 vehicles, states that the pivot bolts for the roof rack crossbars may not have been tightened properly, allowing them to detach.
This will impact certain 2022-2025 Jeep Wagoneer, 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2023-2025 Jeep Wagoneer L, and 2023-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L vehicles.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9
Hyundai
More than 5,300 vehicles are being recalled amid fears that a person, especially a child, may become trapped by a rear-powered seat, potentially increasing the risk of injury.
Certain 2026 Ioniq 9 vehicles equipped with a Limited, Calligraphy, or Calligraphy Design trim package may have second-row power seats that fail to detect a person.
The seats may continue to move after contacting a person during powered seat functions, such as automatic power fold-and-stow.
Owners are "advised to exercise caution when operating the second-row power seat functions until the repair is performed", while children should not sit in the rear seating area.
